Mission Statement
SIB Housing Department is committed to providing fair equitable services for the Skeetchestn Indian Band community that promote health, liveability and safety now and for future generations.
Housing Administration
Housing is one of the basic needs for the people and a strong housing policy insurances the housing department is working with the people and the Chief and Council. As the housing policy is a living document it will change with the needs of the members.

Housing Program Goals
-Improved Communication between tenants/coworkers
-Training for staff and for tenants to ensure a harmonious relationship and an effective department.
-A database containing each house on the reserve with a history of maintenance, year of build, owners and/or tenants, make and model of appliances and replacements, make and model of heating system and replacements, detailed electrical schematics, location and details of sceptics and water, wheel chair ramps, roads, improvements.
-Job descriptions and how they interface with duties for staff to comprehend their role and duties within the organization
-Develop an effective business model that will reduce cumbersome bureaucratic reporting procedures.
-Appreciate staff capabilities and allow job skills to be developed that will allow lateral movement between departments and in decision making.
-Try to create an acceptable match between people and jobs and allow room for training.
