Wild Strawberry | Fragaria virginiana
Wild Strawberry

The fruit from wild strawberries were highly prized by all interior Native people. They ate the berries fresh, but some mashed and dried them into cakes, uncooked for winter use. Dried leaves were steeped to make a tea for medicinal purposes, or used to flavour cooked roots.
