Prickly Rose

Rose hips are high in vitamin C as well as calcium, vitamin A, and phosphorus. Rose hips are used to make herbal teas, jams, jellies, and were also eaten by Native people on a casual basis or in times of scarcity. The seeds were discarded and only the outside rind was eaten. Rose canes were also used to manufacture arrow shafts.
